Its officially 2017! I love the new year, but what I don't love is getting up early to go to my classes. This semester, I'm taking an 8:00am class and I'm not the biggest morning person. I mean I love my college and all, but I'm not sure I want to see my professors at that time of day.
But with a new semester comes new professors and I still want to make a good first impression. This easy back to school outfit says comfy and cozy with a dash of "I tried today." It's an easy outfit and probably what I'll be living in most of this semester!
The first piece of this outfit is your favorite pair of leggings! Since it's January and mornings can get a little chilly, I chose my high-waisted fleece lined leggings from Belk. They are so soft and warm that they might just give you enough motivation to get out of bed in the mornings!
Next, put on your coziest sweater and a pullover. I got my monogrammed fleece quarter zip from Etsy. I like to order my pullovers and jackets a litter larger than usual because I love anything oversized. It's just so soft, but nice enough to look like you didn't just throw it on! If you live somewhere where this time of year is cold, you might need a thicker pullover. But here in NC where the temperature this week can go from 50 to 67 in a couple days, usually a nice layer of fleece is all you need.
Now for the shoes! I'm wearing my duck boots I got from Target. A few months ago, my sister showed me a pair of duck boots and I thought they were so ugly and told her I'd never get a pair. Then little by little, they started growing on me. One day, I decided to just try a pair on. I've been obsessed ever since. These are the comfiest shoes in the world! NC is very humid where I live and we tend to get a lot of dew and rain overnight and in the mornings. Duck boots are so stylish and waterproof. So I can walk across campus confidently knowing that if (when) I step in mud, I can easily wipe it off and not worry about ruining my shoes.
Because of this outfit, I'm dreading classes starting a little bit less. Now grab a Starbucks or hot coffee and have a fantastic first day of classes!
