Warmest Snow Outfit

We finally got snow!

Well, more like ice, but there's a dusting of snow over it! In this area of NC, we don't usually get too much snow or even cold weather. The week of Christmas it got up to 70 degrees! But this weekend, the high has been below freezing which means we'll have the ice and snow for a couple more days!

If you've read some of my previous posts, you know that I'm transferring to a university this fall. The school I chose is Appalachian State University. This is a huge change of environments for me. I am not used to the cold. But I am definitely not used to the snow, let alone snow storms.

So lately, I've been trying to prepare for how cold it actually will be up in the mountains in the winter. I took this snow weekend as preparation and to put my new snow outfit to the test.

The first part of this outfit is your favorite pair of jeans. My secret, these actually aren't jeans. They're jeggings! I'm not particularly a huge fan of jeans. They just aren't comfortable to me. Especially when you have so many layers on already in the snow, I love how comfortable and soft jeggings are!

Next, I'm wearing my fleece lined quarter zip pullover. You can really wear any warm shirt you want. Even a sweater to keep you really warm! Since my jacket is so large, I wanted something underneath that would keep me warm, but wouldn't add too much bulk. Pullovers or sweatshirts are perfect if you are looking for something along those lines too.

The next piece of this outfit is probably one of the most important parts. It's also my favorite part--snow boots! I spent so long trying to figure out the perfect snow boots that look fashionable, but are also sturdy and waterproof. I decided to go with Sorel Tivoli's in curry and I will never buy another snow boot again! They are so comfortable! They are extremely fashionable with gorgeous suede material, but they are also waterproof and beyond sturdy! So easy to clean and dry! I'm also wearing my heat locker level 7 socks to make sure I don't get cold feet (sorry for the pun, I couldn't help myself ;P). I love that they are not super bulky either. These shoes are truly the real deal!

The last part of this outfit is this extremely warm coat. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this coat.  Cinched at the waist and chevron bubbles give this coat so much personality. My favorite part is the fur hood. Did I mention it also has fleece lined pockets? It's above the knee, but longer than typical coats to offer maximum warmth. So you're probably dying to know where I got it from. Dressbarn! I usually never shop here, but it's one of my mom's favorite stores so we went shopping the other day. She was trying on clothes. and came out in this gorgeous beige jacket and I fell in love with it. I loved it so much that we actually went back and I got the same jacket in black! I had been searching for so long for a coat like this, but kept delaying because of the prices! But this coat was only $50!! If you're looking for a winter coat, please go to Dressbarn and buy this coat. You won't regret it!

I hope you enjoy this outfit and have a fun, snow filled week!
