Next is brows! I absolutely LOVE this Elf Brow Kit! After I shape my brows with the tinted wax, I use Ulta Beauty Brow Tint in medium to fill them in. I brush the tint through them and use the setting powder in the brow kit to fill in any spots I may have missed. If I want really dramatic brows, I brush concealer around them to add more definition and shape. The last thing I do is use the INSPR Brow Duo to highlight my brow bone. You can even put some in the corners of your eyes to add brightness.
Eyeshadow time! I love eyeshadow. There just seems to be endless opportunities with it and I love to try out new colors and palettes. Before I apply my eyeshadow, I use Ulta Beauty Nude Matte Eyeshadow Primer. A little goes a very long way! I then apply a very thick layer on my lids of the darker gold color in my Elf Need it Nude palette. After, I used the light, sparkly tan (second color in the palette), as a gorgeous transition color in my crease. Since it's New Year's Eve, I decided to try out a more bold look. I took my Hard Candy Smoke Out palette and applied the darkest black to the outer edges of my crease and under my eyes. Blend a lot! If needed, blend in some of the lighter, sparkly silver/gray color. I like to do this just to add some shine and a little pop. Last, I like to go back over my lids with more gold to make sure the gold really stands out!
So you can probably tell by now that I'm a little obsessed with Elf. As a college student, I am very frugal. I love the quality of Elf but I love the prices more! I use their Cream Eyeliner in black because it's only $2.00 and so easy to use! I line my eyes with it, but use this Physicians Formula Eye Liner Ink Pen in black to add a nice dramatic wing. You can use the Elf Cream Liner, but I think using an ink pen allows you to get a much sharper wing.
Now it's time for my favorite part of makeup: mascara! I don't have very long lashes, but I hate the hassle of curling them. Mainly because they are stubborn and never stay curled for long. A few months ago, I discovered the most amazing thing for my lashes and it's called fiber lash. I use Physicians Formula Eye Booster. You apply the mascara as normal, but right after, use the smaller tube to brush on the fiber extensions. Apply another layer of mascara to seal them in, and you're good to go! It's so easy and looks natural too!
We're almost finished! Although this step is optional, I recommend it if you want an even more dramatic look. I love to contour! I have such bad luck with many contour kits because the color just isn't right. But I adore this Maybelline Master Contour Kit. It's not too dark and the highlighter is gorgeous. I have really high cheekbones so I have to be really careful not to over-contour because it looks unnatural very quickly. Especially with this kit, you don't need much to add just the right amount of definition!
Time for lips! I usually don't use really dark lipstick, but to go along with the bold theme, I felt it was only fitting. I lined my lips with Ulta Beauty Lip Liner and used the Bittersweet side. I filled my lips with Ulta Beauty Cream Raisin Matte Lipstick. I love matte lipstick because it stays on so much longer than other lipsticks!
The last thing to do is spritz your face with a setting spray. I used Ulta Beauty Matte Setting Spray.
That's it! Now go out, have fun, be confident, and have a happy New Year's Eve!
