Little Ways to Incorporate Fitness

Sometimes, people have the best intentions when it comes to working out. Their mind is in the right place, but they can't seem to get their body on board. It's easy to have excuses to not exercise. And let's be honest, a lot of them are completely valid. One of the most common is not enough time. But the truth is, fitness isn't something you just fit into your schedule in your spare time. Fitness and exercise are part of a lifestyle. If it's important to you, you have to make the time for it.

Nevertheless, it still doesn't make finding time easy. So here are a few different easy and simple ways to incorporate a little exercise into your everyday life.

1. Park farther away. As tempting as that first spot in the lot is, resist. Choose the parking spot that's farthest away. It's something small, but the little things add up. Whether it's the parking lot at work or the grocery store, try it out. Walking is so good for your health, so try to work a little harder to get in those steps!

2. Going along with the theme of the first one, make multiple trips. I'm sure we've all struggled to carry all those bags from the car in one trip. But remember, getting your steps in is important. Challenge yourself. Maybe try to only carry one bag at a time, even if you can grab more.

3. Take the stairs. We all rejoice when we walk into a big building and see an elevator. I mean, does anyone really like having to climb up all those flights of stairs? But instead of taking that elevator, do the right thing for your body and take the stairs. You'll feel better about yourself later.

4. Maybe you really didn't have time to workout today. Something had to give and exercise was it. You come home and you just want to sit down on the couch and unwind. There is nothing wrong with that! Sometimes you just need to sit down for a little while. But if you're sitting there feeling guilty and have lingering thoughts of exercise, all hope isn't lost. Try some couch exercises! There are a bunch out there. Exercising doesn't always involve standing up! For example do a few sets of ab bikes, leg lifts or scissor kicks.

I hope you try some of these ideas and consider taking exercise a step further!
