New Year's Party Appetizer

It's almost New Years Eve and you might be hosting a party or event. If so, one of the toughest things to prep for is the food. What should you make? Is it time consuming? Will people like it? Fortunately, with this appetizer, you can answer yes to all those questions.

Three ingredients. That's it. Sometimes, you don't have time to make everything from scratch, and that's ok! But that doesn't mean you can't still assemble something that will make taste buds sing. These sausage pineapple bites with balsamic glaze are amazing and fast to make.

Ingredients:
  • Applegate Chicken and Maple Sausages
  • Fresh Pineapple
  • Balsamic Dressing
I decided not to put a number with the ingredients because you can change it up! Cook up as many sausages as you want and cut them however thick you want them. Cut one, small piece of pineapple for each sausage bite and choose your favorite balsamic dressing. This recipe is hard to mess up and super forgiving.

The first thing to do is to heat up the sausages. You can put them in a frying pan, bake them, or even microwave. They are fully cooked, so choose whichever way is easiest for you to warm them. Once they're not frozen anymore, cut them into bite sized bits. I cut each sausage in fifths.

Cut your fresh pineapple so it's about the same size as the sausage bites. If you're really in a time crunch, use pre-cut or canned pineapple.

Put your pineapple pieces on top of the sausages and slide a toothpick through the center.

The last thing to do is get your favorite balsamic dressing and drizzle it on top! I chose this balsamic vinaigrette from Maple Grove Farms. It has such a powerful punch of flavor so you don't need much, but it will add just the right amount of tartness since the sausage and pineapple are sweet.

Viola! That's it! You now have a terrific appetizer that takes about 5 minutes to make. I hope this helps relieve some New Year's stress! Enjoy!
