My sister recently introduced me to a magical thing called an Ipsy Glam Bag. Let me just say, this stuff is the real deal! Every month, you get 5 different makeup products from brands you requested. You also get to keep the bag it comes in for makeup storage or a little clutch. If you're trying to be healthy, you probably know that a lot of makeup is filled with chemicals and harmful residues. But with Ipsy, you can request to get high quality makeup from all-natural and even organic brands. The best part, it's only $10.00 a month!! I want to share my glam bag bundle from this month and give you honest reviews on the products. I hope after reading this, you will love Ipsy as much as I do!
First, can we talk about how adorable this bag is! It's a gorgeous shade of pink and has gorgeous gold accents. It's also super soft and has more room inside than you would think. I'm sure it will be a fashion staple to all my holiday parties this week!
So the first product I got inside my Ipsy bag was the OFRA Bliss Eyeshadow/Highlighter. OFRA is a natural brand so I was thrilled to try one of their products. I found that this has a little too much color for me to use as a highlighter, but is a fantastic eyeshadow! My skin is very fair, so that color was too dark for me to use all over. But when I used it as an eyeshadow, it had a beautiful bronze/gold color to it and so much shine! If you use it with a wet brush, the color and shine pop even more!
The next product I got was the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pin Up. This has become my new favorite lipstick. The color is bold and really makes your lips stand out. It is so easy to apply and dries to be a gorgeous matte lipstick. A lot of matte lipsticks are really drying and end up cracking in little pieces when they dry. They give your lips a sticky, chapped feeling that only gets worse as the night goes on. This lipstick is the total opposite. It doesn't crack! It looks the same after hours of applying as it did right after you put it on. It doesn't make your lips look dried out at all. It truly is liquid velvet!
The INSPR Duo Brow Highlighter was also in my bag. My brows have a mind of their own. They like to do crazy things no matter what I try. But I absolutely love this brow pencil. I have tried brow kits in the past, but the wax colors are so dark. I use the BANG! side to sculpt my brows. Unlike most waxes, this color is actually lighter than my brows. I really like this because then I go in with a brow powder that is slightly darker to fill in certain parts. I find this gives my brows a more even color and overall look. After, I go in with the POW! side to highlight my brow bone. I love, love, LOVE this highlighter! It defines SO well! The color and shine are so gorgeous and it really gives your eyebrows that wow-factor!
I had extra Ipsy points so I also got these Madam CJ Walker Beauty Culture Hair Gel and Butter. One is for wavy hair and the other for curly. I've tried the blue one because my hair is wavy. I was not particularly fond of this product. While I didn't dislike it, I just found it had little impact on my hair. On the plus side, it works well in small amounts as a smoothing alternative to hairspray and smells really good!
I also got this Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioning Treatment from Marc Anthony. I love to do deep conditioning treatments on my hair every couple weeks or so. I usually use coconut oil because of its healing and moisturizing properties, but I thought I'd give this a try. I also tried pairing it with the hair creme I talked about above. Like the hair creme, this wasn't my favorite product. I didn't dislike it, but also didn't love it. I just found it didn't do much for me. It felt like regular conditioner and did wash out nicely. I usually have to wash my hair multiple times after deep conditioning to get out all of the additional oils. With this, I only needed one rinse! While I most likely won't be buying this product again in the future, it was nice to be able to try it out. However, I think I'll stick with my coconut oil!
Finally, I saved the best for last! Two words: Maracuja Oil. All I can say is wow! I got this Deluxe Maracuja Oil from Tarte Cosmetics. This is truly a miracle worker! I rub three drops on my hands after I wash my face at night and pat in all over my face and neck. I've only been using it for about 6 days, but it is blowing my mind with how soon I am seeing improvements. I wake up in the morning and my face has wonderful glow. My acne redness is practically gone and so is my acne scarring. It doesn't feel heavy or oily on your face. It is light and smooth, but adds just the right amount of hydration. This is by far my favorite thing in my bag this month!
If you're looking to try some high quality makeup from high end brands without breaking your bank, I encourage you to try Ipsy! I guarantee that you will be hooked after your first bag comes in the mail. I hope my reviews were helpful and that you sign up for Ipsy now!
