Get Motivated

Everybody loves the idea of being fit. Going to the gym, eating healthy, and being strong and healthy seem so wonderful. That is, until it comes time to put in the work. We all know that feeling. You get there pumped up and ready to grind, but halfway through you find yourself wondering why. It's so easy to get into that slump and just slowly fall off the wagon. I'm going to share with you the best ways I beat that slump and get myself motivated!

1. Create a workout playlist.  There is absolutely nothing that gets me in a better workout mood than listening to my favorite songs. I love music and like to create playlists with a little bit of everything! I love country, pop, dubstep, you name it, it's probably on there. Make a playlist that satisfies your tastes and makes you want to get up and move!

2. Choose the right fuel.  Eating health is a staple. If you're putting in crap, you'll feel like it too and no one wants to workout when they feel bloated and gross. Choose healthy meal and snack options with lots of superfoods to offer the proper fuel you need!

3. Make a list of goals.  Sometimes, it's hard to remember why you workout. Maybe you're not seeing the results you want and giving up seems easier. If that happens to you, make a list of all the reasons why you want to workout. Then during those tough times, look back at your list and remember your goals.

4. Let yourself rest.  If you're overworking yourself, nothing will make you want to quit faster. Although working out is wonderful and it's great to push yourself, make sure you are allowing yourself enough time to recover and rest. Everyone needs a break every now and then!

5. Do recovery exercises. No one likes working out when you're still sore from your last workout. You want to make sure your muscles stay healthy by helping heal, especially if you lift weights. Make sure you're stretching after every workout. Foam rolling has also helped my muscles tremendously! They heal much faster and stay sore for shorter periods of time. A couple other things to help are muscle creams, epsom salt baths (magnesium heals your muscles), and muscle scraping.

I hope these motivation tips help you as much as they've helped me!
